What is Cyber Bullying?

Cyber Bullying has become a huge issue ever since this new technology has been created. Bullying is no longer done only in person buy also over text, over email, over calling, and over social networking sites. Although some of these tools are very helpful, and even fun, they can still be dangerous. People send harassing messages over the internet to make the victim feel bad about themselves. But little does the bully know what's happening on the other end of that message. When you bully someone in person the victim tries to stay strong and not show how they're actually feeling, but when you bully someone over the internet, it might be hard for them to keep their composure since they are all alone. Cyber bullying needs to stop.

What Can You Do To Stop Bullying?

There are many things you can do to stop bullying. For starters, don't be a by stander. If you notice something happening, say something. Don't be the person watching everything go on around you, be the person who tries to make a difference. That's just a start though. You can do even bigger things to stop bullying. You can start an anti-bullying club at your school. Many famous people have stood up to bullying. For example, Demi Lovato makes a big point of stopping bullying. She was a victim of bullying when she was younger and does whatever she can today to help the kids who get bullied. Bullying is a serious problem that needs to be stopped. It's important to do whatever you can to stop this problem.

Why Don't Victims Of Bullying Stand Up For Themselves?

Many people think that victims of bullying are too embarrassed to tell an adult what's going on, which is sometimes the case, but often times it can be something else. People who get bullied on a daily bases often feel that if they tell someone they are getting bullied, the bully will just treat the victim worse. Victims are often scared to feel weak in front of the bully. If you stand up to a bully, they will most likely go away because you aren't as weak as they thought you were. A bully just wants to hurt you to make themselves feel better, so if you don't let them hurt you, they will stop trying. Telling someone is better for everyone, because it can lead to the victim feeling depressed. Bullying has become a worldwide issue mostly because it leads to depression. Depression leads to self-harm, which can go as far as suicide. Suicide rates have become very high in the US. 4,400 deaths per year have came from suicide in the US alone, along with that, there has been about 100 attempts (http://www.bullyingstatistics.org/content/bullying-and-suicide.html)It is important to tell a teacher, parent, or any trusted adult if you are being bullied so that depression never occurs in the victims life.

What Is Bullying?

There are so many people, girls and boys, all around the world are bullied everyday. Bullying is when someone is picked on, made fun of, or even told to do something that they don't want to do. Victims of bullying often feel threatened enough to not want to go to school, to not do their homework, and to not stand up for themselves. One of the main statements people say to do when you're being bullied, is to tell a teacher, parent, or any trusted adult. Most of the time though, students won't say anything. They will keep it to themselves, and try to pretend like nothing is going on. Why do they do this to themselves? Victims of bullying don't stand up for themselves because they are scared. They are scared that the bully will hurt them even more, or they are embarrassed to feel weak in front of a bully by telling a teacher. No matter how scared you are of a bully, you should never hesitate to tell someone. Telling someone what is going on can save your life. After all, the bully will be the one in trouble, not you.
